Old Kinord is a post-medieval settlements and field systems site located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The monument comprises the remains of settlements and associated field arrangements that developed on the landscape east of Old Kinord during the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. These settlements reflect the agricultural organisation and land use patterns characteristic of rural Scotland during this period, when communities adapted their fields and structures to the local terrain and economic circumstances of the region.
The site lies upon bedrock of the Argyll Group, psammites, semipelites and pelites formed during the Neoproterozoic era, which weathered into soils suitable for cultivation and settlement.
