Patervan is a Iron Age fort, settlement and associated cultivation terraces located approximately 1050 metres north-northwest of a reference point in Peeblesshire, Scotland. The site comprises defensive earthworks characteristic of Iron Age hillforts of the Scottish Borders region, together with evidence of domestic occupation and the field systems that supported agricultural activity. The cultivation terraces indicate a community engaged in stock-rearing and cultivation during the Iron Age period, demonstrating the integration of settlement, fortification and agricultural land-use typical of Iron Age societies in the area. The monument is recorded under the Heritage Environment Record with the reference SM3025.
