The site comprises an enclosure together with an associated pit alignment, representing land management and possibly agricultural or defensive practices of the post-medieval period. The pit alignment, a linear arrangement of pits, may indicate territorial boundaries or field divisions typical of early modern agricultural reorganisation in the Lothian region.
