Plumberow Mount is a Bronze Age round barrow situated near Rayleigh in Essex. The monument consists of a circular earthwork mound that once contained burials and grave goods typical of the Bronze Age period, roughly dating to between 2200 and 700 BCE. The site represents an important example of prehistoric funerary practice in Essex and demonstrates the considerable investment communities placed in commemorating their dead through monumental earthworks. Though subject to some erosion and land use changes over the centuries, the mount remains archaeologically significant as evidence of Bronze Age settlement and ritual activity in southeast England.
