Lescudjack Castle is a round, an Iron Age defensive settlement located near Penzance in west Cornwall. The monument consists of a roughly circular enclosure defined by a substantial defensive bank and ditch, characteristic of the later prehistoric fortified homesteads of south-west England. Dating to the Iron Age period, such rounds served as enclosed settlements for individual families or small communities, combining domestic and defensive functions within a single fortified space. The site represents an important example of the settlement pattern and social organisation of pre-Roman Cornwall.
