Soulseat Abbey is a medieval monastic site located approximately 700 metres north-north-west of Mahaar in Wigtownshire, south-west Scotland. The abbey was founded in the twelfth century and functioned as a religious community during the medieval period. The site comprises the remains of the abbey buildings alongside an associated burial ground that served the monastic community and surrounding parish. Though fragmentary, the surviving structural evidence and earthwork features contribute to understanding medieval monasticism and land use in this region of Galloway.
