South Elphinstone is a medieval settlement, chapel and graveyard located in East Lothian, Scotland, situated approximately 370 metres west-southwest of the principal settlement at Elphinstone. The site comprises the remains of a small rural community with associated ecclesiastical structures, typical of medieval parochial organisation in the Lothian region. The chapel and graveyard indicate this was a centre of religious provision for the local population during the medieval period, whilst the settlement evidence suggests sustained occupation and agricultural activity.
