Stellock is a prehistoric rock art site located east-north-east of Monreith in Wigtownshire, south-west Scotland. The site comprises natural rock surfaces decorated with cup-and-ring markings, a form of Bronze Age rock art characteristic of the period between approximately 3000 and 1500 BCE. Cup-and-ring motifs, consisting of circular depressions surrounded by concentric rings pecked into stone, represent one of the most enigmatic expressions of prehistoric artistic tradition in Britain, though their precise ritual or symbolic purpose remains uncertain. The Stellock carvings contribute to the wider distribution of such rock art across south-west Scotland, a region particularly rich in Bronze Age petroglyphs.
