Sundaywell Fort is an Iron Age fortification located approximately 300 metres north of Sundaywell in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. The site comprises a substantial hillfort with defensive earthworks typical of Iron Age settlement patterns in southern Scotland, constructed during the later prehistoric period when such fortified enclosures served as centres of power and refuge for local communities. The fort's physical remains consist of ramparts and ditches defining its perimeter, features characteristic of Iron Age defensive architecture in the region. Such sites represent important evidence of Iron Age social organisation and territorial control in the borders area during the pre-Roman Iron Age.
