Timpendean Tower and Earthwork is a fortified structure located in Roxburghshire, Scottish Borders, dating to the late medieval period. The site comprises a substantial tower with associated earthwork defences, typical of the border fortifications constructed during the ongoing conflicts between Scotland and England in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The tower represents the military architecture characteristic of the turbulent Anglo-Scottish frontier region, where such strongholds served both defensive and administrative functions. The survival of both the stone structure and surrounding earthworks provides evidence of the settlement patterns and defensive strategies employed in this contested border landscape during the late medieval period.
