Trefil Tramroad is a Post Medieval industrial tramroad located in Wales, dating from the early nineteenth century. The tramroad served the ironworks and collieries of the Trefil area, facilitating the transport of coal and iron ore across the difficult terrain of the South Wales valleys. As a scheduled ancient monument, it represents an important example of the industrial infrastructure that characterised the rapid industrialisation of Wales during this period. The tramroad's physical remains preserve evidence of the engineering solutions developed to manage the movement of heavy materials through mountainous landscape during the early industrial era.
