Two prehistoric enclosures, field clearance cairns and unenclosed hut circle settlement north of Hart Heugh is a Bronze Age and Iron Age settlement complex located in upland Northumberland, approximately 600 metres south west of Wooler Common. The site comprises two enclosed areas, scattered field clearance cairns, and a hut circle settlement lacking defensive works, indicating a domestic pastoral community rather than a fortified establishment. These remains date primarily to the Bronze Age and Iron Age periods, representing sustained occupation of the high moorland landscape during prehistoric times. The survival of both field systems and settlement structures at this location provides evidence for the intensive exploitation and settlement of the upland terrain in northern Britain during the later prehistoric period.
