Biography

Larry Parks was born in Olathe, Kansas in 1914 and worked as a stage and film actor. His career progressed from minor and supporting parts to leading roles, but largely ended after he admitted membership in a Communist Party cell, which resulted in his blacklisting by Hollywood studios. He played Al Jolson in The Jolson Story (1946) and Jolson Sings Again (1949). Parks died in 1975.
