The Battle

History & Significance

Prince Henry's first independent military victory, at sixteen. His aggressive pursuit after the initial engagement at Grosmont led to a second crushing victory at Usk shortly after. The back-to-back victories demonstrated the military talent that would later win Agincourt. The Grosmont action was part of the sustained campaign that began rolling back the Glyndŵr revolt.
