The Battle

History & Significance

Sir Thomas Fairfax commanding the Parliamentary army at Naseby fought personally in the centre of the battle, removing his helmet to rally his infantry. When his own regiment of foot faltered, Fairfax rallied them and led them back. He then rode to join Cromwell on the right to deliver the final blow against the Royalist infantry, fighting in the thick of the action throughout.
