History & Significance

In the immediate aftermath of the Glenfruin massacre and the proscription, MacGregor bands continued to move through their traditional territories in Glen Dochart. Government forces attempting to apprehend them found the terrain entirely in favour of the hunted. Several such skirmishes occurred before the MacGregors dispersed into smaller groups or were absorbed by patron clans.
