History & Significance

One of the most significant battles of 10th-century Ireland. Cormac mac Cuilennáin, the warrior-bishop-king of Munster, was killed. His death ended Munster's bid for hegemony and opened decades of Uí Néill dominance. The Lebor na Cert (Book of Rights) is attributed to Cormac.
