The Battle

History & Significance

Following the Bryn Glas victory in June 1402 and the capture of Edmund Mortimer, Glyndwr launched extensive raiding into Shropshire and the English March. The raids terrorised the border population and demonstrated that the victory at Bryn Glas had created a power vacuum in the eastern March. Henry IV launched a punitive expedition into Wales in autumn 1402 but achieved nothing against guerrilla resistance.
