March dispersed without violence. Wilson arrested, tried for treason, hanged and beheaded at Glasgow. One of three executions arising from the Scottish Radical War.
The Battle

History & Significance

James Wilson led approximately twenty Strathaven weavers in a march toward Glasgow under a green banner reading Scotland Free or a Desert, believing they were joining a larger national rising. Finding no other rebels assembled they dispersed. Wilson was arrested and subsequently executed.
