During the campaign surrounding Glenlivet in 1594, the government army under Argyll included contingents from multiple clans including the MacKintoshes. After the main Catholic earl victory at Glenlivet, the government forces were pursued and further skirmishes occurred as various contingents tried to escape. The MacKintosh contingent suffered particularly.
