Outcome
After the main rebellion at Blackheath and Southwark collapsed and Cade's followers dispersed on the promise of royal pardons (6-7 July 1450), Cade himself moved through Dartford (8 July) and Rochester (9 July), sending captured goods by water to Rochester for safekeeping. At Rochester he learned the government had put a reward of 1,000 marks on his capture, alive or dead, and fled in disguise; he was tracked down and mortally wounded a few days later, reportedly near Heathfield, Sussex.
