The Battle

History & Significance

Boarstall House in Buckinghamshire, a moated fortified manor serving as an eastern outpost of the Oxford Royalist perimeter, was invested by Parliamentary forces through 1645-46. The garrison held out tenaciously through multiple siege attempts until June 1646 when, with Oxford surrendered, all hope of relief was gone and the garrison finally yielded on honourable terms.
