Bonshaw Tile Works is a nineteenth-century industrial site located northwest of Bonshawside near Kirtlebridge in Dumfriesshire. The works represents the local brick and tile manufacturing industry that developed in the region during the Victorian period to supply building materials for expanding settlements and agricultural improvements. The site comprises the structural remains of kiln features and associated production facilities characteristic of small-scale Scottish tileworks of this era. Such works were typically situated close to sources of suitable clay and water, making use of locally available raw materials for the manufacture of roof tiles, floor tiles, and bricks required by the building trades.
