Mote of Annan is a motte-and-bailey castle situated approximately seventy metres south-southwest of Moat House in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. The monument comprises a substantial earthwork typical of Norman and early medieval fortification, consisting of a raised mound (motte) with an adjoining defended enclosure (bailey), a form of castle prevalent in Britain from the late eleventh century onwards.
