Dalminnoch enclosure, situated approximately 250 metres south-southeast of Dalminnoch itself in Wigtownshire, is a post-medieval enclosure of uncertain precise dating within the early modern period. The monument comprises an earthwork enclosure formed by substantial banks and ditches, characteristic of the agricultural reorganisation and land management practices undertaken across lowland Scotland during the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. Such enclosed fields represent the transition from medieval open-field systems towards more systematic pastoral and arable management, reflecting the economic development of rural Galloway during this transformative period. The site's survival as an earthwork feature provides evidence of landscape change and settlement patterns in the post-medieval Wigtownshire countryside.
