Gamelshiel is a post-medieval settlement and field system situated approximately 950 metres east-south-east of its official reference point in East Lothian, Scotland. The site represents the physical remains of agricultural settlement dating to the post-medieval period, comprising both structural evidence of habitation and the associated cultivated landscape that characterised rural communities in this region during the sixteenth century onwards. The field system preserves evidence of the agricultural practices and land management strategies employed by occupants of the settlement, contributing to understanding of early modern rural settlement patterns in the Scottish Lowlands. The site is recorded within the Historic Environment Record maintained by Historic Environment Scotland under INSPIRE reference SM8769.
