Green Island Fort is an Iron Age fortified settlement located within Milton Loch in Kirkcudbrightshire, south-western Scotland. The fort occupies a crannog or artificial island within the loch, a settlement type characteristic of Iron Age communities in Scotland, providing both defensive advantage and access to aquatic resources. The site represents an important example of Iron Age domestic and defensive architecture in the south-west of Scotland, dating to the later prehistoric period.
