Latheronwheel House broch is an Iron Age defensive structure located approximately 500 metres west of Latheronwheel House in Caithness, Scotland. The broch dates to the Iron Age period and represents the distinctive Scottish broch architectural tradition, characterised by its circular stone tower design with hollow-wall construction. The monument survives as a substantial ruined structure that evidences the building practices and settlement patterns of Iron Age northern Scotland. Brochs of this type served both defensive and residential functions for their Iron Age inhabitants, and the Latheronwheel example contributes to our understanding of settlement hierarchy and domestic life in the Scottish Highlands during the pre-Roman and early Roman periods.
