Latheronwheel House is a Neolithic chambered cairn located in Caithness, Highland Scotland, situated approximately 580 metres south-east of Latheronwheel House itself. The monument dates to the Neolithic period and represents the burial and ceremonial practices of early farming communities in northern Scotland. As a chambered cairn, the structure would have contained an internal stone-built chamber or chambers beneath a mound of stone, typical of megalithic funerary monuments constructed during the fourth and third millennia before the present. Such cairns served as collective burial places and remain significant archaeological evidence for understanding Neolithic settlement patterns and ritual practices in the far north of Britain.
