Offa's Dyke: Y Gardden Camp Section is a linear earthwork forming part of the extensive frontier works constructed during the reign of King Offa of Mercia in the late eighth century. The monument consists of a substantial bank and ditch configuration typical of Offa's Dyke, running through the landscape of Denbighshire and marking the territorial boundary between the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia and the Welsh principalities to the west. This section of the wider dyke system demonstrates the considerable engineering effort required to construct such a substantial linear defence across challenging terrain. The earthwork remains a significant archaeological record of early medieval political boundaries and the exercise of royal authority in the period circa 760–796 AD.
