Pinnaclehill Farm burial mound and cists is a Bronze Age funerary monument located in Roxburghshire, Scotland. The monument comprises a burial mound with associated stone burial chambers, or cists, situated approximately 90 metres north-west of the farm buildings. The site lies on bedrock of the Inverclyde Group, a geological formation of sandstone, siltstone and mudstone deposited during the Osagean period, which provides the natural substrate upon which the Bronze Age community constructed their ceremonial landscape.
The combination of a mound with multiple cist burials reflects Bronze Age burial practices common across Scotland during the second millennium before Christ. Such monuments typically contained inhumations or cremations of individuals of significance within their community, often accompanied by grave goods. The Inverclyde Group bedrock would have provided suitable stone for constructing the cists, as well as material for the surrounding cairn structure.
