Upper Sour broch is a Iron Age defensive structure located in Caithness, north-eastern Scotland, situated approximately 315 metres west of Upper Sour. The broch dates to the Iron Age period, representing the distinctive Scottish roundhouse tradition that flourished during the first centuries BC and AD. Like other brochs of its class, the structure would have served both defensive and domestic purposes, with its characteristic hollow-walled circular design providing substantial structural strength and internal accommodation for a highland community.
