A Civil War skirmish at Llantrisant in the Vale of Glamorgan. Glamorgan was contested between Royalist and Parliamentary forces throughout the war. The market town of Llantrisant — later famous as the site of the Royal Mint — was a strategic crossroads in the region. Parliamentary forces under local commanders gradually tightened their grip on the Vale of Glamorgan in 1645.
