History & Significance

Glyndŵr held his second parliament at Harlech in August 1405 while Welsh forces maintained control of west Wales against English attempts at relief. The parliament had representatives from Welsh counties, church and burgesses — a genuine constitutional assembly. Military operations continued simultaneously: Welsh forces threatened English castles across the north while the parliament met. The Tripartite Indenture to divide England had just been signed.
