History & Significance

On learning of the Simnel landing Henry VII mobilised quickly, ordering a general muster and concentrating his forces in the Midlands. He advanced from Kenilworth to intercept the rebel march south. Oxford was given command of the main battle. Henry's rapid response prevented the rebellion from gathering momentum.
