The Battle

History & Significance

Harlech Castle falls to the English after a siege. Glyndwr wife Margaret, his daughters and several grandchildren are captured and taken to London where they die in captivity. Glyndwr son-in-law Edmund Mortimer dies during the siege. The fall of Harlech effectively ends Glyndwr ability to maintain a conventional court and government.
