The Battle

History & Significance

The Cornish rebel army marched to within sight of London before being stopped at Deptford Bridge on the Thames. Royal forces under Lord Daubeney, the Earl of Oxford and Henry VII himself attacked the rebels; the Cornish fought back fiercely before being broken. Lord Audley who led the gentry contingent was captured and later executed.
