Antonine Wall, Deanfield, Roman temporary camp and annexe 160m NNE of is a Roman temporary camp located in Stirlingshire, Scotland, positioned near the line of the Antonine Wall. The site dates to the mid-second century AD, corresponding to the Roman occupation and fortification of Scotland under the Antonine period, approximately AD 142–180. The temporary camp and its associated annexe represent military infrastructure constructed to support Roman operations during the building and maintenance phases of the Antonine Wall frontier. Such temporary camps served as staging posts and accommodation for Roman troops engaged in garrison duties and construction works along this northernmost frontier of the Roman Empire in Britain.
