Muckla Water is a Neolithic chambered cairn located approximately 800 metres east-south-east of Priesthoulland in the Esha Ness peninsula of Shetland, Scotland. The monument dates to the Neolithic period and represents the burial and ritual practices of prehistoric communities in the Northern Isles. As a chambered cairn, it would originally have comprised a stone-built burial chamber within a cairn mound, typical of megalithic monuments constructed during the 4th and 3rd millennia BC. Such structures served as communal burial places and are significant archaeological remains for understanding Neolithic settlement, social organisation, and mortuary practices in Scotland's most northerly region.
