History & Significance

Jasper Tudor, Earl of Pembroke, mustered Welsh Lancastrian forces at Pembroke Castle in the opening phase of the Wars of the Roses. Welsh troops were raised for the Lancastrian cause in significant numbers. Jasper used his connections as son of Owen Tudor and half-brother of Henry VI to mobilise south-west Wales.
