Ardeer Recreation Club subterranean passage and cave is a man-made underground chamber located in Ayrshire, Scotland, and protected as a scheduled monument by Historic Environment Scotland. The passage and cave were excavated into the Coal Measures bedrock that underlies the site, a geological formation of the Moscovian age comprising layers of mudstone, siltstone, sandstone, coal, ironstone and ferricrete. This stable, stratified sequence of sedimentary rocks provided suitable material for the creation of subterranean chambers, a practice undertaken in various periods across Scotland for purposes ranging from storage and refuge to recreational or ritual use.
