Blackford Hill fort and settlement is an Iron Age fortified site located in Midlothian, Scotland. The monument comprises defensive earthworks and associated settlement remains that date to the Iron Age period. The fort's physical characteristics include substantial banks and ditches that would have enclosed and protected the settlement within, typical of fortified settlements constructed during the later prehistoric period in the Lothian region. Such hillforts served important functions as defended settlements and centres of community activity during the Iron Age.
