Drumbowie Farm is a Second World War anti-aircraft battery located in Lanarkshire, Scotland, situated 350 metres west-south-west of the farm itself. The site occupies ground underlain by the Scottish Coal Measures Group, a geological formation of Moscovian age comprising mudstone, siltstone, sandstone, coal, ironstone and ferricrete. This varied bedrock would have presented particular challenges for construction and drainage during the wartime installation of the battery.
Anti-aircraft batteries such as this were established across Britain during the Second World War to defend against air attack.
