History & Significance

A major Scottish victory in the border wars that preceded the catastrophe at Solway Moss. Sir Robert Bowes led a large English raiding force that was caught and destroyed at Hadden Rig. The victory gave Scotland false confidence before the disaster of Solway Moss that same year.
